We've made a list of questions for you to ask
yourself, before we get started…
What DON’T you like about your space?
Create a "wish list" for your new project, and then number the items in order of importance.
What items (ie: cabinetry, countertops, flooring) do you want to invest the most money into?
If necessary, what items can you compromise on?
How much are you willing to invest? Setting a budget beforehand will make the process easier and the outcome more favorable.
What style do you favor? Save pictures you like from magazines.
Are you remodeling other rooms in addition to the kitchen? Which rooms?
Are there time constraints for the work? If the project absolutely has to be finished by a certain date, please let us know, so that we can help you meet the deadline!
If you plan on making big changes to your home, what functions or activities do you want to plan for in this space? (ie: adding a fireplace, desk area or adding a table instead of the current breakfast bar).
How will your family change over the next few years? Will you become "empty nesters," or new parents?
Do you plan on selling your home in the next couple of years or do you plan on retiring in it?
Do you plan on doing any of the work yourself?
Do you do a lot of entertaining? If you do, we can design additional appliances, storage options for added dinnerware, and enough space for your guests to gather.
Are there major structural changes to consider, such as moving a wall or window?
Contact kitchen manufacturer as early in construction process as possible. Moving a window or door could improve the layout of your kitchen greatly. Window height in kitchen is very important – many houses are built with the window too low – thus causing a problem with worktop height in the kitchen. If you contact us early in the building process this can be avoided.
